The Northern Sporades in Greece

The most popular sailing areas in the Mediterranean are certainly to be found within Greece and Turkey. Indeed, Mediterranean sailing is epitomized by the enchanting and stylish ports of Hydra, Spetses, Paros, Ios, Mykonos and Santorini, which have attracted so many famous movie stars, artists and old money. Nowadays, the quays can still be seen filled with super yachts & mega yachts or other luxurious crewed charters, yet often these yachts belong to the lucky occupants themselves who spend a good deal of their time cruising the Greek waters and exploring the Med. These yacht can however also be rented.
The luxury gulet cruises can only be found in the east of Greece and in the southwest of Turkey, roughly speaking along the Ionian, Lycian and Carian coasts of Turkey and in the Dodecanese waters of Greece. The jet-set with their super yachts & mega yachts however focuses on the areas near Athens: the Cyclades and the Argolic & Saronic gulfs and will from there visit the mesmerizing Adriatic coasts of Croatia and of course the French Riviera. But the sheer amount of coastline, ports and anchorages in Greece and the Greek islands are unique.
