Travels Greece

One travels Greece for three obvious reasons:

1. The magnificent blue bays, picturesque villages and pristine beaches.
2. The ancient Greek and Roman culture, the many important and accessible archaeological sites, as well as the medieval fortresses and castles.
3. The veritable romantic quality of the islands: for instance the Santorini volcano, the steep cliffs of Amorgos or wonderful places such as Spetses, Poros, Hydra near Athens.

Yet, it is important to note that nearly all these highlights - that make Greece so popular - are best reached by yacht. Indeed, if one travels Greece by anything else but a sailing yacht, most of the must-see venues are simply out of reach.

Options for travels Greece by yacht

• Bareboat charters on regular charter yachts such as the Bavaria, Jeanneau Sun Odyssey, Beneteau Oceanis or Ocean Star yacht. For these travels Greece options you will need to be adequately skilled to skipper your own yacht.
• Skippered or crewed chartered on one of these regular yachts. On a skippered charter the only crew rented is the skipper, captain or instructor. On a crewed charter or fully crewed charter you will have the additional cook and or hostess as well. Now we are talking luxury travels Greece!
• But the real luxury travels in Greece comes with the less common yachts, the so-called gulet motorsailers that originate from Bodrum, adjacent to the Dodecanese islands. These gulets are actually the luxurious wooden cruise ships on which the blue cruises or blue voyages are organized along the Turquoise coast of Turkey.
• The modern variant of these wooden gulets can be found in the fully crewed and extremely luxurious superyachts and megayachts, that can be found throughout the Greek waters. Perhaps not as romantic and stylish as their wooden counterparts, the superyachts and megayachts have the engine power to compensate this. On a superyacht one travels Greece the fast way.
