Narcissism
The term “narcissism” originates from the Greek myth of Narcissus – popularized by Ovid's “Metamorphoses” – that tells of a young man, who rejects the advances of the nymph Echo and is punished by the gods by falling in love with his own reflection. Unable to leave the reflection, he wastes away and transforms into the narcissus flower. In psychology, see NPD.
